What’s Included
- Mannlicher-Steyr M95/30 Stutzen S Conversion rifle
Converted at Vienna Arsenal in 1931, this carbine wears the “W ✶ 31” acceptance stamp alongside the bold gothic “S” that denotes rechambering to 8x56mmR. These factory markings authenticate the correct inter-war upgrade program.
The straight-pull bolt with split-lug design allows rapid cycling, while the rotary safety remains a distinctive Mannlicher feature. Its integral five-round en-bloc clip system drops free with the trademark “ping” after the last shot.
A full-length walnut handguard and grasping-groove stock give the carbine a traditional Stutzen profile. Though shortened at the muzzle, the wood retains clear cartouches and an oil finish consistent with Austrian service rifles of the era.
Iron sights include an unhooded blade up front and a tangent V-notch rear sight graduated to an ambitious 2400 meters, reflecting period doctrine. The 19.8" steel barrel, paired with the compact stock, keeps overall handling quick for a bolt-action rifle of its time.
