W+F Bern 1916 K11 Swiss Straight-Pull Carbine in 7.5x55mm, 23.3" Barrel, Blued Finish
This 1916-dated K11 carbine represents the final evolution of the rear-locking Schmidt-Rubin straight-pull system before Switzerland adopted the K31. Built at Eidgenössische Waffenfabrik Bern, it offers the compact handling favored by alpine troops, a smooth straight-pull action, and the distinctive Swiss side-sling setup. A privatization “P” stamp confirms later transfer to a reservist, adding collectible appeal.

What’s Included
- Swiss factory steel K11 6-round magazine (installed)
Developed for mountain infantry, the K11 shortens the earlier 1911 rifle while retaining its 23.3" barrel, yielding a handy overall length without sacrificing ballistic performance of the 7.5x55mm GP11 cartridge.
The straight-pull bolt allows rapid cycling, and its rear-locking lugs keep the action smooth under sustained fire. Production of K11 carbines ran from 1913 to 1933, with approximately 184,000 units made; this example, serial range 48 xxx, dates to 1916.
A side-mount sling bar and finger-groove walnut stock reflect Swiss ergonomic priorities for traversing steep terrain. The tangent rear sight is graduated to 1,500 m, paired with a hooded post front sight protected by sturdy wings.
Receiver, barrel, and small parts retain original blued/browned finish, accented by Swiss armory “WF” codes and inspector marks. The carbon-steel receiver and walnut furniture speak to the quality materials typical of Swiss military production during the World War I era.
