Product Description

    Marlin Model 1893 Takedown .30-30 Lever-Action Rifle, 26" Octagon Barrel (1900)

Built in 1900, this Marlin Model 1893 Takedown combines early smokeless-rated construction with the convenience of an interrupted-screw takedown system. A full-octagon 26-inch “Special Smokeless Steel” barrel, 10-round tubular magazine, and straight-grip walnut stock showcase the classic Marlin profile that helped shape the later 336 lineage. An aftermarket tang-mounted aperture sight adds a precise sighting option without altering the rifle’s vintage character.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.
Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.
Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: Light handling wear is visible, with a few small surface scratches on the barrel and receiver.

    What’s Included

    • Marlin Model 1893 Takedown .30-30 rifle with aftermarket tang aperture sight installed

This rifle features Marlin’s knurled-collar interrupted-screw takedown mechanism, allowing the barrel and magazine assembly to separate quickly from the receiver for compact transport or cleaning.

The full-octagon, 26-inch “Special Smokeless Steel” barrel was an early marketing point for safe use with then-new smokeless powder cartridges. Patent dates of 1887, 1889, and 1893 are crisply marked on the top barrel flat.

A 10-round full-length magazine gives the shooter notable capacity for a rifle of this era, while the bead front blade and semi-buckhorn rear sights remain in place for traditional sighting. The tang-mounted peep sight adds a longer sight radius and a small aperture for finer precision.

Walnut furniture includes a straight-grip stock with shotgun-style buttplate and a 10-groove walnut forend. All metal surfaces retain a rich blued finish consistent with Marlin production at the turn of the 20th century.
