This 1895SS belongs to the first wave of Sporter Safety models, manufactured only in the mid-1980s. Its serial number prefix confirms 1985 production, giving collectors a clear date to anchor provenance.
The 22-inch carbon-steel barrel features Marlin’s 12-groove Micro-Groove rifling and a 1:20 twist, helping reduce fouling while maintaining accuracy with a wide range of .45-70 Government loads.
A solid-top, side-eject receiver retains Marlin’s robust lever-action heritage while adding a cross-bolt safety and a rebounding hammer for secure carry. The receiver is factory drilled and tapped, and a scope rail is already in place for quick optic mounting.
Gloss-finished American walnut furniture provides a classic look and comfortable grip. The pistol-grip stock includes a factory recoil pad, and the full-length magazine tube holds four rounds, giving the rifle a 4+1 capacity.
Sights consist of a hooded brass-bead front on a serrated ramp and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear, offering a crisp traditional sight picture right out of the box.
