H&R M1 Garand .30-06 Semi-Automatic Rifle, Late-Production 1956, Parkerized Finish, Walnut Stock
This Harrington & Richardson M1 Garand comes from the final U.S. military production run in early 1956, marked by its 5.7-million-range serial number and factory-correct T105E1 sight set. Retaining its as-issued configuration with a Springfield Armory bolt and bayonet-lug gas cylinder, this rifle offers collectors a textbook example of post-Korean War Garand manufacture. A clean, mirror-bright bore and intact walnut furniture round out a rifle that blends shootability with historical appeal.

Harrington & Richardson produced roughly 428,600 M1 Garands between 1953 and 1956; this rifle dates to January–May 1956, making it one of the last U.S.-issued Garands ever built. The late-production Parkerized finish on chromoly steel components reflects the standard of the era and offers durable corrosion resistance.
The 24-inch chromoly barrel remains in excellent internal condition, pairing a mirror-bright bore with well-defined rifling for reliable accuracy. A wing-protected front post and T105E1 rear aperture provide precise windage and elevation adjustments.
The full-length, straight-grip walnut stock and matching handguards retain their original oil finish, giving the rifle classic Garand lines and a solid feel. A period-correct bayonet-lug gas cylinder is installed, completing the mid-1950s military configuration.
