The revolver wears Colt’s bone-charcoal color case hardening on the frame and hammer, producing vibrant blues, purples, and straw hues unique to each gun. Barrel, ejector housing, and six-shot cylinder are finished in Colt’s high-polish Royal Blue, providing a deep gloss that highlights the crisp barrel legends and address.
Cataloged as model P1850, this example retains the traditional four-click hammer sequence and fixed sights—features prized by collectors seeking mechanical authenticity. The exposed hammer, smooth trigger, and single-action operation deliver the classic “thumb-cock and fire” experience synonymous with the Peacemaker.
The 5.5-inch carbon-steel barrel balances the gun between the 4.75-inch “Civilian” and 7.5-inch “Cavalry” lengths, offering an iconic profile often referred to as the “Artillery” configuration. Chambered in .45 Colt, it accepts the cartridge that defined the frontier era while remaining popular with modern cowboy-action shooters and Colt enthusiasts.
Serial number range S67367A places this revolver in the late 3rd-Generation run, benefitting from Colt Custom Shop attention to fit and finish. Minimal handling marks and a mirror-bright bore underscore its well-kept status, making it an appealing choice for display, collection, or careful range use.
