Para Ordnance P14-45 Classic .45 ACP Pre-Ban Double-Stack 1911, Alloy Frame, 5-Inch Barrel
Built in 1994, this Para Ordnance P14-45 Classic delivers 14+1 rounds of .45 ACP firepower in a full-size 1911 platform that predates the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban. The RL-prefix alloy frame keeps weight down compared with steel-framed variants, while retaining familiar 1911 ergonomics and controls. A stainless steel, integral-ramp barrel, fixed 3-dot sights, and Series-80 style firing pin safety make this early high-capacity Para a notable find for shooters and collectors alike.

The P14-45 was the first widely available double-stack 1911, and this early Canadian-made example showcases Para Ordnance’s pioneering design. Its alloy receiver, finished in matte charcoal black, shaves noticeable weight while retaining the strength needed for .45 ACP pressures.
The stainless 5-inch barrel features an integral feed ramp for reliable feeding of hollow points and defensive loads. Rear slide serrations, a skeletonized commander-style hammer, and an adjustable over-travel trigger lend practical enhancements without straying from classic 1911 styling.
Safety is handled by a left-side thumb safety, grip safety, and Series-80 style firing pin block, providing multiple redundant safeties in a single-action layout. Checkered polymer grip panels and a checkered magazine release promote secure, positive control.
Marked “Para-Ordnance Ft. Lauderdale FL,” this pistol reflects the brief transitional import period before Para’s U.S. manufacturing move, adding collectible appeal. Combined with its pre-ban 14-round magazines, it offers both historic relevance and modern capacity.
