Stevens No. 35 Offhand .22 LR Single-Shot Pistol, 8-Inch Barrel, Pre-WWII Production
This Stevens No. 35 Offhand is a break-action, tip-up single-shot pistol chambered in .22 LR with an 8-inch barrel. Produced in the post-1923 era, it represents the final handgun pattern made by Stevens before World War II halted civilian production. Its long barrel, elevation-adjustable rear sight, and birds-head alloy grips make it a distinctive off-hand target pistol for collectors of early American rimfire arms.

What’s Included

The No. 35 Offhand was designed for precision one-handed shooting, pairing a long carbon-steel barrel with a solid steel frame. The break-action tip-up design allows quick loading of a single round and easy bore inspection.
This example falls in the 37,000-range serial block, shared with the scarce .410 Off-Hand Shot Gun, adding period context for Stevens collectors. The post-1923 stamped trigger-guard variant seen here was one of the last refinements before production ended.
The iron sight system combines a Patridge blade front with an elevation-adjustable folding rear, giving shooters fine control over point of impact. An external spur hammer and single-action trigger round out the straightforward operating controls.
The pistol now wears milled aluminum birds-head grip plates, providing a secure hold while preserving the classic profile. Despite honest finish wear, it remains mechanically sound and ready for display or careful range use.
