This SAINT is part of the initial production run (serial range ST0xxxxxx), making it a notable piece for anyone tracking the evolution of Springfield’s AR-pattern rifles. Early models like this one feature the BCM PKMR polymer KeyMod handguard, giving users a slim, heat-resistant grip with modular accessory attachment points.
The 16-inch chrome-moly-vanadium barrel uses a Melonite QPQ treatment inside and out for corrosion resistance and extended service life. A mid-length gas system balances reliability with reduced recoil impulse, while the 1:8-inch right-hand twist stabilizes a broad spectrum of 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington bullet weights.
Forged 7075-T6 upper and lower receivers are matched with Springfield’s Accu-Tite tension screw to minimize play. An ambidextrous charging handle with large latches and a two-position selector offer intuitive controls. The single-stage, nickel-boron coated trigger is micro-polished for a smooth break.
Furniture is purpose-built: a six-position collapsible stock with integral QD sling socket, and a fixed A2 F-mark front sight paired with a low-profile dual-aperture flip-up rear sight. The barrel is threaded 1/2x28, ready for standard muzzle devices.
