Smith & Wesson Model 2214 Sportsman .22 LR Micro Pistol – Threaded 3" Barrel, Collectible 1990s Straight-Blowback Semi-Auto
The Smith & Wesson Model 2214 Sportsman is a compact, lightweight .22 LR pistol produced for a short run between 1991 and 1997 in Houlton, Maine. Its fixed, low-bore-axis, threaded barrel and aluminum-alloy frame make it stand out among rimfire handguns, while shared magazine compatibility with the 422-series adds practical appeal. Limited production numbers and the UAC serial prefix give this micro-sized Sportsman added interest for collectors and rimfire enthusiasts alike.

What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson factory blue cardboard box
- 1 × 8-round factory Smith & Wesson steel magazine
Built on a black-anodized aluminum-alloy frame, the Model 2214 weighs noticeably less than most steel-framed rimfire pistols of its era. The carbon-steel barrel is 3 inches long and factory-threaded, making it suppressor-ready without the need for aftermarket sights thanks to the low bore axis.
The straight-blowback, single-action system is paired with an external spurred hammer and an ambidextrous slide-mounted thumb safety, giving familiar 1911-style manual controls in a much smaller format. A heel-type magazine release helps keep the slim grip profile intact.
Fixed sights consist of a white-dot front blade and a square-notch rear, providing a clear sight picture appropriate for target or field use. Vertical rear slide serrations offer positive purchase when cycling the action.
The pistol uses the same magazines as Smith & Wesson’s 422-series, simplifying spare-mag acquisition and enhancing practicality. Combined with its micro size, threaded barrel, and short production span, this Model 2214 Sportsman presents a compelling mix of shootability and collectibility.
