Tikka M/27 Finnish Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54R Bolt-Action Rifle, 27" Heavy Barrel (1932)
Built by Tikkakoski in 1932, this M/27 is a Finnish-issued Mosin-Nagant variant distinguished by its 27-inch heavy barrel, reinforced one-piece nose cap, and ski-nose hooded front sight. Bearing the boxed “SA” Finnish Army property mark and the triangle-T factory logo, it saw service through the Winter War and Continuation War before Century Arms International imported it to the United States. Collectors value the M/27 for its accuracy-focused barrel profile, rugged Arctic birch stock, and limited production numbers compared with Russian counterparts.

What’s Included
- Finnish military olive-green web sling (installed)
Produced during Finland’s modernization of captured Mosin-Nagant rifles, the M/27 features a chromium-molybdenum heavy barrel that improves heat resistance and long-range consistency. The barrel length, combined with the finger-groove fore-end, provides a stable shooting platform favored by Finnish marksmen of the era.
The Arctic birch stock is a two-piece design with a single transverse cross-bolt and domed sling washers, engineered to endure harsh northern climates. An oil finish protects the wood while preserving the stock’s tight grain and pronounced finger grooves.
Sighting is handled by a hooded blade front sight with ski-nose protective ears and a modified Russian M91 stepped leaf rear sight mounted on the M/27 base. This setup was intended to offer quick target acquisition in snowy conditions while maintaining the elevation settings familiar to Finnish troops.
Proofs and markings include the boxed “SA” property stamp, triangle-T Tikkakoski logo, “M27 7.62R FINLAND” import mark, and “CAI ST ALB VT” importer stamp. The bolt and receiver carry non-matching serial numbers, a common occurrence among service-returned Finnish rifles.
