Thompson Center Scout .54 Caliber Inline Percussion Pistol – 10" Blued Barrel, Walnut Grip
The Thompson Center Scout pistol was the first mass-produced inline percussion hunting handgun in the United States, debuting in 1992. Chambered in hard-hitting .54 caliber and built around a non-break, inline design, this compact black-powder sidearm delivers carbine-level energy in a 10-inch package. A removable breech plug simplifies rear-end cleaning, while the carbon-steel receiver comes drilled and tapped for an optional optic base. Brass-colored alloy grip-frame accents and smooth walnut furniture give the Scout a distinctive, heritage-inspired look.

What’s Included
- Thompson Center Scout .54 caliber inline percussion pistol
Designed for serious black-powder hunters, the Scout’s inline ignition and 1:38 twist stabilize heavy .54-caliber projectiles for dependable accuracy and terminal performance. The external single-action hammer and single-stage trigger provide a crisp, predictable break that seasoned shooters appreciate.
A 10-inch carbon-steel barrel wears a deep blued finish to protect against corrosion. The drift-adjustable ramp front blade pairs with an adjustable square-notch rear sight for precise point-of-impact control right out of the box.
The brass-colored alloy grip-frame echoes 19th-century target pistols while keeping weight balanced and manageable. Smooth walnut grip panels and a matching fore-end offer a solid, comfortable hold without snag-prone checkering.
Because the Scout is not a break-action design, the removable breech plug is key for straightforward cleaning from the rear—no need to drive fouling back through the muzzle. For those wanting to add glass, the receiver is already drilled and tapped, streamlining any future optic installation.
