Winchester Model 1873 Sporter Octagon Straight Grip .357 Mag Lever-Action Rifle – Early Miroku Production
This modern Winchester Model 1873 Sporter pairs the timeless lines of the “Gun that Won the West” with updated metallurgy and a polished blued finish. Built by Miroku in 2014-15, the rifle sports a 24.25-inch octagon barrel, a straight-grip walnut stock, and a 14-round tubular magazine that feeds both .357 Mag. and .38 Spl. cartridges. The low serial number (00066) and “ZR” prefix confirm first-year production, giving this example added collector appeal while remaining fully suited for the range or field.

What’s Included
- Winchester Model 1873 Sporter Octagon Straight Grip .357 Mag. rifle
The 24.25-inch carbon-steel octagon barrel delivers classic balance while preserving period-correct styling. A 1-in-18.75-inch right-hand twist stabilizes the full range of .357 Mag. and .38 Spl. bullets.
Gold-bead front and semi-buckhorn rear sights offer a fast, traditional sight picture. The tang is drilled and tapped for an optional aperture sight if you prefer finer adjustments.
The polished blued receiver, barrel, and crescent buttplate complement the satin-oil walnut stock and fore-end. Carbon-steel construction throughout, combined with modern heat-treating, provides strength well beyond the 19th-century originals.
Safety is enhanced by a lever disconnect, hidden inertia firing-pin block, and the classic half-cock notch—features that allow the rifle to stay visually authentic while meeting today’s mechanical standards.
With its early Miroku serial range, straight-grip geometry, and 14-round capacity, this Model 1873 offers a compelling blend of collectability and shootability for anyone who appreciates Winchester lever guns.
