Ruger M77 Mark II All-Weather .243 Win, Stainless, Zytel “Boat-Paddle” Stock, 22" Barrel
This early-production Ruger M77 Mark II All-Weather rifle pairs a fully stainless action and barrel with the now-discontinued Zytel skeleton “boat-paddle” stock, creating a lightweight, weather-resistant platform that has become highly sought after by Ruger collectors. Chambered in .243 Win., it features Ruger’s controlled-round-feed system, integral scope-mount bases, and a recessed-crown 22-inch barrel—details that combine reliability, accuracy, and durability in one package.

Ruger introduced the M77 Mark II series in the early 1990s, adding a Mauser-type claw extractor and three-position wing safety—features that give this rifle true controlled-round-feed reliability. The serial number (780-) places production in 1991, making it one of the early stainless Zytel-stock examples.
The 22-inch stainless barrel is topped with a recessed crown to protect the rifling and maintain accuracy. Chambering in .243 Win. offers flat trajectories and moderate recoil, making the rifle well-suited for varmint work and medium game alike.
The rugged Zytel skeleton stock, often called the “boat-paddle” for its distinctive profile, keeps weight down while adding strength and weather resistance. Ruger discontinued this stock years ago, enhancing the rifle’s collectible appeal.
Integral scope-mount bases are machined into the receiver, and the included stainless rings let you add optics without additional hardware. A Harris-style swivel bipod is already mounted, giving the shooter a stable rest for field or bench use.
