Colt reintroduced its Fourth Model Deringer in the early 1970s, staying true to the original pocket-sized profile while using modern materials. This Second Series example retains the classic right-side tip-up barrel, a design detail collectors look for in authentic Colt reproduction derringers.
The frame is cast from Zamak and nickel plated, offering corrosion resistance and a period-correct appearance. A blued 2.5-inch steel barrel chambers .22 Short and swings open for loading, echoing the operation of the 1870s originals.
External features include an exposed spur hammer, a half-moon integral front sight, and a hammer-notch rear sight. Smooth walnut grip panels round out the micro-size profile, giving the pistol a clean, traditional look.
With consecutive serial numbers and its factory presentation case bearing the gilt Rampant Colt logo, this pair stands out for display or collection. The two-tone finish, limited production window, and faithful styling make it an attractive piece for enthusiasts of Colt’s historic pocket pistols.
