Product Description

Remington Model 1903A3 Sporterized .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle, 24 in. Barrel, Fajen Monte-Carlo Stock, Engraved Floorplate, mfd 1943

This 1943-dated Remington Model 1903A3 has been thoughtfully sporterized for post-war hunting use. It features a polished and re-blued finish, a Fajen Monte-Carlo walnut stock with crisp checkering, and tasteful wildlife engraving on the hinged floorplate. Receiver serial 3804515 places its original military acceptance in July 1943, yet the rifle now offers modern sporting touches like scope-ready drill-and-tap work and a receiver-mounted aperture sight.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Good – Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.
Bore Rifling: Good – Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.
Specific Condition Notes: Light scratches and handling marks are present on the stock and metal surfaces, consistent with regular field use.

    What’s Included

    • Pair of blued split scope rings

The aftermarket Fajen Monte-Carlo stock immediately distinguishes this rifle. Its straight-cut walnut displays sharp checkering, white-line spacers, and installed sling-swivel studs for practical field carry.

Metal work shows careful attention: the receiver, barrel, and small parts were polished and re-blued, while the bolt body was left in the white for visual contrast. An engraved stag-in-forest scene on the floorplate adds a personalized, collector-worthy touch.

Functionally, the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope base, yet an adjustable aperture rear sight remains in place for precise iron-sight shooting. The original military front sight hardware was removed during sporterizing, giving the 24-inch sporter-profile barrel a clean line.

The rifle retains its robust Model 1903A3 action, chambered in .30-06 Springfield and feeding from a fixed 5-round magazine. With a 13.75-inch length of pull and a balanced full-size configuration, it offers a classic blend of WWII heritage and post-war sporting upgrades.
