Product Description

Remington U.S. M1903A3 .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle (1943), 24-inch Barrel, Parkerized Finish, Receiver Aperture Sights, Sporterized

This Remington U.S. Model 1903A3 is a WWII-era .30-06 rifle manufactured in 1943, notable for its correct Remington barrel marking "RA" over the ordnance bomb with date 6-43 and a Remington-marked bolt root stamped "R 42." It retains the parkerized finish over carbon steel and a full-length hardwood stock with scant grip and upper handguard. This example has been sporterized with an aftermarket ventilated recoil pad and a 14-inch length of pull.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Very good condition, showing only light, superficial signs of prior handling or use.

Specific Condition Notes: This 1943-manufactured example is in great shape for its age.

    What’s Included

    • Leather M1907-style sling with brass claws (installed)
    • Aftermarket ventilated recoil pad with white-line spacer (installed)

Built by Remington during WWII, this M1903A3 shows desirable U.S. service rifle traits and clear wartime markings. The receiver is marked "U.S. REMINGTON MODEL 03-A3," the barrel is "RA" over the ordnance bomb with 6-43 date, and the bolt handle root bears the Remington "R 42" stamp. The metal parts wear a parkerized finish, and the rifle uses a 24-inch carbon-steel barrel chambered in .30-06.

The action is bolt-operated with controlled-round feed and a full-length external extractor. It feeds from a 5-round fixed internal magazine and is compatible with stripper clips for rapid loading. A magazine cut-off is fitted as a safety feature. The rifle uses a stamped trigger guard and floorplate assembly consistent with wartime production.

Sights consist of a receiver-mounted aperture adjustable for both windage and elevation, paired with a pinned blade front protected by sturdy ears (no hood). This configuration provides a clear sight picture typical of the M1903A3 pattern.

The rifle retains a full-length hardwood stock with a scant grip, an upper handguard, and sling swivels. It has been sporterized with an aftermarket ventilated recoil pad and white-line spacer in place of the original GI steel buttplate, and the length of pull is set to 14 inches. The stock carries an oil finish that complements the period-correct appearance of the metalwork.
