Quality Hardware M1 Carbine .30 Carbine Semi-Auto, WWII 1944, Inland 1-44 Barrel, Type I Band, Low-Wood Stock
Manufactured in 1944, this WWII-era M1 Carbine pairs a Quality Hardware & Machine Corp. receiver with an Inland Mfg. Div. (GM) barrel dated 1-44. Its configuration aligns with wartime production, featuring a Type I narrow barrel band without bayonet lug, low-wood stock, two-rivet handguard, flat-top bolt, and the later adjustable rear sight.
A period-correct parts mix and clear ordnance markings make it a strong example of late-war assembly practices, with a discreet under-barrel accessory mounting base installed with screws/rivets.

This rifle was mfg 1944 by Quality Hardware & Machine Corp., with the receiver marked 'QUALITY H.M.C.' and the ring marked 'U.S. CARBINE / CAL. .30 M1'. The serial number falls within QHMC's final 1944 production block, and the Inland Mfg. Div.
(GM) barrel is correctly dated 1-44. This QHMC/Inland pairing is consistent with wartime free barrel issue practice.
Sighting equipment includes a wing-protected front post and the later adjustable aperture rear sight with windage knob. Small parts and fittings reflect correct wartime features: a Type I narrow barrel band stamped 'AI' (no bayonet lug), a flat-top bolt, and a 'T' stamp near the trigger guard/magazine catch. Stock inspection characters 'K', 'S', and '3' appear on the pistol-grip toe.
The hardwood stock has the low-wood right rail and oval sling/oiler cut, paired with a two-rivet handguard. The installed GI-style web sling complements the stock configuration and is fitted through the correct sling/oiler channel. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
Chambered in .30 Carbine and built on the M1 platform, this semi-automatic, gas-operated short-stroke piston carbine uses an 18-inch barrel and accepts a 30-round magazine (30+1 capacity). It is a United States WWII-era arm, combining correct markings with late-war feature changes.
A custom under-barrel accessory mounting base is installed using screws/rivets. The modification is neatly executed and remains separate from the rifle's core WWII configuration features and markings.
