This Winchester Model 37 Steelbilt is a .410 Bore, single-shot, break-action shotgun with a 28-inch, choke-marked barrel and a 3-inch chamber. Made in the United States with a New Haven, Connecticut barrel rollmark, it comes from the 1936–1963 production period in which Model 37 receivers were not serialized. This example is further distinguished by a custom 1968 Kennedy half-dollar inlaid into the left buttstock.

The barrel is rollmarked "MODEL 37 – STEELBILT – 410 – 3 IN" with "CHOKE," and carries a New Haven, Connecticut address, confirming its U.S. manufacture. Model 37 production spanned 1936–1963, and receivers from this line were exempt from serial numbering.
Chambered for 3-inch .410 Bore, the shotgun features a 28-inch barrel with a choke, providing a straightforward, traditional configuration for a single-shot .410. It is a break-action design with an exposed hammer and a one-round capacity.
Sighting is simple and practical with a front bead and no rear sight. The forend is wood, and the stock is wood with checkering, a gloss varnish finish, and a black buttplate. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches.
This example is custom-enhanced with a 1968 Kennedy half-dollar coin inlaid into the left side of the buttstock, adding a distinctive visual element to the piece.
