The 911 operates as a single-action-only, hammer-fired micro-1911 with ambidextrous manual thumb safeties, a firing pin safety, and no grip safety. Controls include a left-side magazine release, a rowel-style hammer, and a skeletonized trigger with lightening cuts for a clean, consistent break.
Its construction centers on a lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum frame paired with a 2.7 in 416R stainless steel barrel and a 1:16 twist. A full-length guide rod and flat-wire recoil spring manage the slide’s movement, contributing to smooth cycling.
Despite its compact size—5.5 in overall length, 3.9 in height, and approximately 12.6 oz unloaded—the 911 offers practical capacity with a single-stack 6+1 configuration. The slide includes rear grasping grooves and a pop-up loaded chamber indicator for quick visual status checks.
Target-focused sighting is delivered by a dovetailed fiber-optic front and a dovetailed two-dot rear with a tactical rack ledge. The slide is marked SPRINGFIELD ARMORY with the crossed-cannons crest, and the included factory CMI magazine carries the Springfield Armory crossed-cannons on its baseplate.
