This Schofield is a single-action-only, top-break revolver with simultaneous star extraction and a six-shot, half-fluted cylinder. It is chambered in .44-40 WCF and configured with a 3.5 in barrel for a compact profile. The sighting system is period-correct, with a fixed half-moon front blade and a rear notch integral to the top latch.
Construction is all steel, pairing a color case-hardened frame and receiver with a high-polish charcoal blue barrel and cylinder. The smooth walnut grips include brass escutcheons and an embossed cartouche. The hammer uses a fixed firing pin, consistent with the pattern.
Markings and proofs include Italian Gardone CIP proof marks and "CIP N," plus "TAYLOR'S & CO., WINCHESTER, VA - A. UBERTI - ITALY." The barrel is marked "44 W.C.F." and the butt is marked "U.S." Matching serials are present on the butt and cylinder.
Additional technical notes include a 1:20 RH twist rate and full-size frame. No lanyard ring is observed. The finish combination of color case-hardened steel with charcoal blue adds visual contrast while staying true to the pattern's historical style.
