This Model 4006 features an all-stainless steel construction with a matte finish on both the slide and frame, giving it a durable, duty-oriented build. The full-size format pairs with a 4-inch barrel and an 11+1 capacity, delivering a classic Third-Generation S&W configuration in .40 S&W.
The pistol runs in DA/SA and includes an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety/decocker and a magazine disconnect safety. Controls include a left-side magazine release and a spurred external hammer for confident manipulation.
Sight regulation is handled by a dovetailed white-dot front sight and a micrometer-style adjustable rear sight with white inserts. The slide uses rear serrations and an external extractor for positive operation, while the grip is a one-piece wraparound textured synthetic with S&W medallions.
Frame and ergonomics details include a square trigger guard with serrations, vertical front-strap serrations, and an extended grip tang. This is the non-TSW variant without an accessory rail, matching the early-production pattern that helped establish the .40 S&W in American service use.
