What’s Included
- Thompson/Center Hawken .50 caliber percussion rifle
This Hawken is configured as a single-shot percussion sidelock with a side hammer, snail bolster, and nipple. Its 28 inch blued octagonal barrel is secured by a single transverse wedge key with oval brass escutcheons, and it is built for black powder use with a 1:48 inch RH twist and a 1-round capacity.
The rifle wears brass furniture throughout, including the trigger guard, nose cap, buttplate, right-side patchbox, and ramrod thimbles. The walnut half-stock has a left-side cheekpiece, and the lockplate and hammer carry factory scroll engraving for a classic presentation.
Sighting equipment includes an adjustable open rear sight paired with a dovetailed front blade. The rifle is equipped with double set triggers. The finish is blued steel over traditional lines that reflect Thompson/Center’s Hawken series design.
Markings on the barrel top flat read "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS - ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE - CAL 50" along with a "BLACK POWDER ONLY / ... INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE READ BEFORE USE" warning line. A serial number is present on the barrel top flat behind the breech. Due to the cracked stock, this example is best suited for restoration or as a functional decorative display.
