Documented by the Civilian Marksmanship Program, this rifle comes with a CMP Certificate of Authenticity. Its serial number places production in February 1942, aligning it with wartime Springfield Armory manufacture in the United States.
The rifle uses the M1's semi-automatic, gas-operated system with an internal 8-round, en-bloc clip–fed magazine. It has a standard 24-inch barrel, a 14.0-inch length of pull, and a trigger guard safety.
Sights are the correct service pattern: an aperture rear with windage and elevation drums paired with a wing-protected front blade. Hardware includes front and rear sling swivels, a gas cylinder with bayonet lug and valve-type gas cylinder lock screw, and a checkered steel buttplate with trap door.
Construction is classic U.S. service configuration with a Parkerized steel receiver and hardwood furniture, including separate front and rear wood handguards. The bolt is marked D28287-19SA over B-14, and the rifle retains the M1 platform's proven military layout.
