This East German PM carries the boxed K100 NVA acceptance stamp on the left frame, along with a two-digit "63" year marking and additional East German inspection proofs near the serial, including a lozenge/diamond and a solitary "y" beneath the year. The "DF" date code aligns with 1963 production. It was built in Suhl by the Ernst Thälmann state factory during the pre-unification era, and there is no Simon-Suhl marking.
The pistol uses a simple blowback, DA/SA action with a fixed barrel and concentric muzzle crown for consistent alignment. The all-steel construction wears a polished blue finish on the slide and frame. The slide-mounted safety/decocker includes a red fire-dot indicator for clear status at a glance.
Sighting equipment consists of an integral ramped front and a drift-adjustable rear notch blade that is height-coded with numerals. Fine anti-glare serrations run along the top of the slide, with vertical serrations at the rear to aid manipulation.
Factory configuration is complemented by wraparound one-piece synthetic grips with molded texture and a palm swell. These aftermarket grips are non-standard for East German service pistols and are installed on this example. Capacity is 8+1 in 9x18mm Makarov, and one steel PM-pattern magazine is included.
