This antique Smith & Wesson Model 1 Third Issue stands out with its nickel-plated finish, scroll-and-punch-dot engraving, and checkered ivory grips. Built during the 1868–1882 period, it features the classic tip-up design with a 3.25" round ribbed barrel and a seven-shot fluted cylinder. The revolver includes fixed sights with a rear notch integral to the top latch, and the serial number on the butt is SN 87800.

This Third Issue Model 1 is a classic seven-shot .22 Short tip-up revolver with a 3.25" round top-ribbed barrel and a fluted cylinder. It operates in single-action only and uses a spur trigger, paired with a birdshead frame that fits the period profile.
The revolver wears a nickel-plated finish on the frame, barrel, and cylinder. Scroll-and-punch-dot engraving decorates the barrel rib, frame, latch, cylinder, and cylinder flutes, complemented by the patent/address line on the barrel rib.
Sighting is fixed, with a half-moon front and a rear notch integral to the top latch. A separate under-barrel ejector rod provides case removal, consistent with the Model 1 design.
The checkered ivory grip panels add a distinctive period touch. Manufactured during 1868–1882, this antique example also notes serial number SN 87800.
