Built on a long-recoil system derived from the Browning Auto-5 pattern, the Model 775A delivers the distinctive rounded-back receiver profile and bottom loading port associated with that design. This example uses an aluminum alloy receiver with a matted top and a right-side charging handle.
The 28" plain (no rib) barrel is paired with a fixed Improved Modified choke and a 2 3/4" chambering, a classic setup for versatile field use. A single front bead provides a straightforward sight picture.
Factory engraving is a highlight: both sides of the receiver show dogs and game birds framed by scroll borders. The receiver is marked "PROOF TESTED," underscoring period manufacturing standards.
Furniture includes a walnut pistol-grip stock and a long, checkered beavertail fore-end with a finger groove. Length of pull measures 13.5". The finish is blued.
Feeding is via a tubular under-barrel magazine with a 2+1 capacity. Originating from the USA and dating to the 1950s–1960s era, this Model 775A reflects a noteworthy chapter in Savage's semi-automatic shotgun production.
