What’s Included
- Colt Single Action Army Second Generation revolver
Manufactured in 1959, this Second Generation SAA delivers the traditional single-action-only operation with a six-shot fluted cylinder and the long 7.5-inch "Cavalry" barrel. The .38 Special chambering places it within a finite subset of Second-Generation production, limited to mid-1950s through mid-1960s runs.
The revolver presents a classic Colt finish combination: blued carbon steel barrel and ejector housing with a blued steel cylinder, complemented by a color case-hardened steel frame. Black checkered hard-rubber two-piece grips with Rampant Colt oval medallions provide period-correct texture and style.
Sighting is via a fixed blade front and a groove/notch integral to the top strap. The barrel shows the Hartford address, and the frame/trigger guard bears correct Colt markings, including the triangular "VP" Verified Proof on the left front of the trigger guard and a "P" inspector’s mark near the trigger guard.
Features include a side loading gate for cartridge access and the recognizable SA suffix in the serial sequence that aligns with Second Generation production. The clean, mirror-bright bore with sharp rifling supports the overall strong presentation of this 1959 Colt.
