What’s Included
- Harrington & Richardson Model 1908 Second Variation Large Frame 12 Gauge single-shot shotgun
The Model 1908 Second Variation large frame is defined by its flat-sided receiver with two visible cross pins and a top-tang opening lever. The receiver and frame are steel with a case-hardened finish, and the firing pin is located in the frame. It employs H&R’s rebounding-hammer system covered by the Feb. 27, 1900 patent.
The 30-inch round steel barrel carries a fixed choke and is marked "12 GA CHOKE." It uses an extractor-type breech (no ejector verified), and sighting is via a single bead front with no rear sight. The configuration aligns with a representative pre-Topper layout.
Stock and fore-end are walnut, with an uncheckered pistol-grip stock in an oil finish and a long, slim fore-end. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches, giving classic single-shot dimensions.
Production details and barrel markings align with c. 1922–1930 manufacture in the United States. The absence of chamber-length and "MADE IN U.S.A." markings suggests pre-1933 production. Chambering is 12 gauge with a one-round capacity, using a single-shot, top-break, exposed-hammer action.
