Manufactured in 1959 in Spain, this Llama (Gabilondo y Cía.) Model VIII "Especial" is a full-size, 1911-pattern .38 Super with a 5-inch barrel and classic blued steel construction. It features a ribbed slide top with integral fixed sights, rear-only vertical cocking serrations, and an arched mainspring housing with a lanyard ring. White pearlescent grip panels with LLAMA medallions and period-correct Eibar proof house stamps, including the "E1" date code, underscore its distinctive Spanish origin and year of manufacture.

This Model VIII "Especial" follows the proven 1911-style, single-action, short-recoil, locked-breech design and is chambered in .38 Super with an 8+1 capacity. The full-size format with a 5-inch barrel adheres to the Government-length profile.
The slide is blued with a ribbed top and integral fixed sights: a front blade and a square-notch rear. Rear-only vertical cocking serrations provide traditional handling. Slide legends include "CAL .38 SUPER AUTOMATIC" on the right, and "GABILONDO Y CIA. ELGOIBAR (ESPAÑA) / CAL. 9 m/m 38 'LLAMA'" on the left.
The carbon steel frame is finished in blue and fitted with an arched mainspring housing and a lanyard ring. Controls include a manual thumb safety and a grip safety. The pistol has a short, serrated trigger and a checkered spur hammer.
Grips are white pearlescent panels with LLAMA medallions, complementing the pistol’s period styling. Eibar proof house stamps and the "E1" date code confirm manufacture in 1959 in Spain.
