Built in 1956, this Superposed Grade I shows key Belgian attributes: Liège ELG-in-oval definitive proof, Perron inspection mark, star-over-letter inspector stamps, and the 12-70 chamber designation. Barrel legends include "MADE IN BELGIUM," "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY — ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI," and patent numbers 2203378 and 2233861. The long-tang trigger-guard architecture is present, and the receiver and forend carry matching numbers.
The 30-inch FN "Special Steel" barrels feature a ventilated, matted top rib and a single front bead, providing a clean sighting plane. Chambers are cut for 2 3/4-inch shells with a two-round capacity.
This over/under uses a top-lever break action and a single trigger, staying true to the Superposed pattern and offering straightforward handling.
Furniture consists of a checkered walnut pistol-grip stock and a long beavertail forend. A ventilated recoil pad is installed, and the length of pull measures 14.5 inches.
The steel receiver wears factory Grade I scroll and rosette engraving, along with an underside oval cartouche bearing the "BROWNING" script, adding classic Browning presentation to this Belgian-made example.
