Developed in collaboration with the NRA during the 1920s–1930s, the Model 19 NRA served as a purpose-built training and match rifle. The barrel rollmark reads "MODEL 19 NRA – SAVAGE – 22 CAL. LONG RIFLE," aligning it with the well-documented interwar production.
The rifle wears a blued finish on the barrel and receiver with a bolt body left in the white. It is built on a steel receiver and chambered in .22 LR, with a 25 inch barrel. The length of pull measures 13.0 inches.
Sighting equipment includes a receiver-mounted micrometer-style aperture rear sight paired with a tunnel front sight, a setup favored for precise, repeatable adjustments. These factory-style sights are integral to the Model 19 NRA’s intended role as a smallbore trainer and competition rifle.
The full-length stock is military-style with finger grooves and two barrel bands. Sling swivels are installed, and the butt is finished with a finely serrated steel plate bearing the Savage monogram. The detachable-magazine well is present; a magazine is not included.
