What's Included
- Remington Model 742 Woodsmaster Standard Grade rifle
- 1x 4-round magazine
Chambered in .243 Winchester, this Woodsmaster is a less common configuration within the 742 lineup and falls into the mid-1970s A-prefix serial block. Made in the United States, the 742 line ran from 1960 to 1980 before being succeeded by the Model Four/7400.
The measured 22.5-inch barrel pairs with a gas-operated, semi-automatic action for smooth cycling. It uses right-side ejection and a right-side charging handle, with a cross-bolt safety for straightforward control. Capacity is 4+1 with the included 4-round magazine.
Classic Woodsmaster styling is present throughout: a gloss walnut-finished hardwood stock and matching fore-end with pressed checkering, white-line spacers, and a Remington-marked checkered metal buttplate. Sling swivel studs are installed, and the rifle is full-size with a 13.25-inch length of pull.
Factory iron sights are not installed. Paired screw holes for sight bases are visible, allowing the user to configure the rifle as desired. The receiver and barrel setup complement the clean, understated profile of this Standard Grade example.
