What’s Included
- Colt Single Action Army New Frontier revolver
The New Frontier configuration brings target-style sights to the Single Action Army platform. This example uses a flat-top frame with a fully adjustable rear sight and a ramped front sight with a serrated face for a crisp, precise sight picture. The checkered-spur hammer has a slightly lowered profile to clear the rear sight.
The 7.5 inch Cavalry-length barrel, six-shot fluted cylinder, and crescent-style ejector-rod head reflect traditional SAA features within the New Frontier series. Chambered in .45 Colt, it retains the classic single-action operation in a full-size format.
Metalwork is finished with a high-polish blued barrel, cylinder, and grip frame, complemented by a color case-hardened frame. Carbon steel construction is used throughout the barrel, frame, and cylinder. Smooth walnut stocks with Colt medallion inlays round out the period-correct look.
Manufactured in 1970, this revolver falls within the Second Generation era (1962–1975). Second-Generation New Frontier production totaled roughly 4,200 units. The NF suffix on the serial range denotes New Frontier specification and Second-Generation production lineage.
Introduced in 1961/62, the New Frontier line combined classic SAA handling with modern adjustable sights; by 1965, the 4¾ inch option had been dropped. This example’s 7.5 inch barrel represents the traditional Cavalry-length configuration associated with the model.
