The 10-5 variant pairs a tapered 2-inch barrel with a round-butt K-frame, delivering a compact profile with classic S&W lines. The unshrouded, knurled-tip ejector rod and six-shot fluted cylinder reflect the period-correct configuration of this model.
Construction is blued carbon steel throughout, including the frame, cylinder, and barrel. The hammer and trigger are color-casehardened, with a hammer-mounted firing pin and a smooth, narrow trigger. The action is double-action/single-action.
Sighting is fixed and straightforward: a serrated ramp front sight and a square-notch rear milled into the topstrap. The factory checkered walnut Magna-style grips with S&W medallions complete the period look and fit the round-butt grip frame.
Assembly numbers “X8374” and “A3” are present on the yoke cut. The serial range (D7 prefix) places production in late 1975 to early 1976, within the 10-5 tapered-barrel production window of 1962–1977. Made in the USA.
