Built by Zastava Arms, the M57 is a Tokarev-pattern, short-recoil, locked-breech, hammer-fired pistol with a single-action only trigger. Made in Yugoslavia in 1965, this example is a surplus import marked PW ARMS REDMOND WA and shows the C-prefix associated with that production year. No national crest is visible on the slide.
The pistol features a 4.6 inch barrel and an 8-round capacity in 7.62x25mm Tokarev. The steel frame provides the classic service-pistol feel, and the extended grip frame is characteristic of the M57 pattern.
Controls and safety elements include a frame-mounted thumb safety added for U.S. import with a red index dot, plus a half-cock notch. The slide carries rear vertical serrations and longitudinal anti-glare serrations along the top to reduce glare.
Sighting is straightforward with a fixed blade front and a square-notch rear. Black ribbed plastic grip panels with five-pointed star medallions complete the period-correct appearance, and lanyard points are present on the grip heel and on the magazine floorplate. Made in Yugoslavia.
