Ruger New Model Blackhawk Buckeye Sports Exclusive Convertible, 10mm Auto/.38-40 Winchester, Blued, 6.5 inch Barrel, 6-Shot
This Ruger New Model Blackhawk is the Buckeye Sports distributor-exclusive convertible from circa 1989–1990. It includes dual-cylinder capability in 10mm Auto and .38-40 Winchester, features a 6.5 inch barrel, and carries distinctive Buckeye branding with gold-accented cylinder markings. Production was limited to approximately 5,000–6,199 units, making this a notable example of a scarce, factory-supported caliber pairing.

Built on Ruger’s blued alloy-steel frame with a steel XR3-RED pattern grip frame, this single-action revolver maintains the classic Blackhawk profile with a durable, high-polish blue finish. Smooth wood grips with Ruger medallions complete the traditional look and feel.
The Buckeye Sports edition stands out with a Buckeye leaf/logo on the topstrap and fluted cylinders roll-marked for their respective calibers. The cylinder markings are highlighted with gold bands, aligning with the distributor-exclusive theme.
Factory convertible design offers both 10mm Auto and .38-40 Winchester use. The 10mm Auto cylinder headspaces on the case mouth and does not require moon clips, adding practical versatility to the platform.
Sighting is handled by a ramped front blade and a fully adjustable rear, paired with a 6.5 inch barrel for a clear sight picture and steady handling. Capacity is six rounds, with the New Model transfer-bar safety system.
Cataloged as model 06110 (S-3840), this revolver was made in the United States and reflects a short-run, late-1980s/1990 limited offering associated with the Buckeye Sports series.
