Built in 1963 in the United States, this Standard Model shows the hallmark features of early Ruger .22 pistols, including the Southport, Conn. address marking and no-prefix serial era production. Its blued steel receiver and 6-inch tapered round barrel present the classic profile associated with the model.
The simple blowback, semi-automatic action uses an internal cylindrical bolt with twin external, knurled cocking ears. A heel-style magazine catch at the butt and a grooved trigger reflect the period-correct control layout.
Sighting is straightforward and robust with a fixed front blade on a ramped base paired to a fixed square-notch rear blade. Black checkered synthetic grips with Ruger eagle medallions complete the traditional Standard configuration.
Feeding is from a detachable single-stack magazine with a stated 10+1 capacity. This example includes two Ruger .22 Auto pattern steel magazines. Takedown follows the Standard Model’s tool-assisted procedure via the rear grip-frame latch and mainspring housing/bolt stop pin.
