- Installed cleaning rod
Produced at Tula Arsenal in 1938, this M91/30 represents the pre-WWII round-receiver pattern. The steel receiver and components wear a blued finish, paired with a full-length hardwood stock in glossy varnish/shellac. The stock incorporates finger-groove reliefs, metal-lined sling slots, and a steel buttplate.
Markings include the Tula star with arrow on the barrel shank and a triangle-with-arrow acceptance mark on a band. The rifle is import marked "M91/30 RUSSIA 7.62x54R C.A.I. GEORGIA, VT," confirming U.S. import history and caliber designation. Matching serial HE128 is present on the barrel shank, bolt handle flat, and magazine floorplate.
Its bolt-action system uses a straight, in-the-white bolt handle. Feeding is from a fixed internal 5-round magazine, designed for loading via stripper clips. The barrel measures 29 in, and the length of pull is 13.5 in.
Sighting is via iron sights: a hooded front post and a rear tangent ladder graduated to 2,000 m. Hardware includes two stamped barrel bands with spring clips and a cleaning rod mounted under the barrel.
