The No. 1-B Standard configuration uses a falling block, single-shot action with a tang safety and hammerless design. This example is chambered in .25-06 Remington and carries a 26-inch round blued barrel. The Ruger quarter rib is machined with integral ring cuts, and the rifle is configured without iron sights, as is typical for the 1-B.
Early 130-prefix production aligns this rifle to approximately 1970. The factory barrel address reads "STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A." and the rifle was made in the United States. The blued finish is applied to both the barrel and receiver.
The stock set is checkered walnut with a pistol grip and semi-beavertail forend. Details include a black grip cap with Ruger medallion, sling swivel studs, and the early-style red Ruger recoil pad with logo medallion. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
For mounting a scope, the rifle’s quarter rib accepts Ruger proprietary rings, and a set of rings is included. A leather sling is also included for carry. Capacity is one round, consistent with the No. 1’s single-shot design.
