This No.2 Mk I* follows the wartime DAO configuration with a spurless (bobbed) hammer and full-size frame. It is chambered for .38 S&W and built with carbon steel throughout the barrel, frame/receiver, and cylinder.
The top-break, hinged-frame action uses an automatic star extractor for swift ejection. A left-side stirrup-latch secures the barrel lockup. It carries a six-shot fluted cylinder, a 5 inch barrel, and a lanyard ring on the butt.
Sighting is straightforward and robust, with a fixed blade front and a notch milled into the topstrap at the rear. The grips are black checkered synthetic panels with circular medallion discs, consistent with the service configuration.
Markings include CAL 38 on the barrel rib, Crown over BNP, .38 .767, 3.5 TONS, and MADE IN ENGLAND, with British commercial nitro proofs present on multiple parts. Identified as an Albion Motors–contract Enfield No.2 Mk I*, it bears a ZA-prefix serial visible on the revolver.
