Construction details include an aluminum-alloy frame, a carbon steel fluted cylinder, and a stainless steel barrel, all in a matte black finish. The short knurled-tip ejector rod and round-butt J-frame profile keep the revolver streamlined.
Chambered in .38 Special +P, the barrel is roll-marked ".38 S&W SPL. +P," with the model marked 442-2 on the yoke cut and "Airweight" script on the frame. An internal key lock is present.
Crimson Trace Lasergrips are installed (black rubber, J-frame round-butt) with a red laser observed, providing an integrated aiming aid that complements the fixed sights. This revolver was made in the United States.
