This carbine uses a steel, top-eject receiver with a solid (non-takedown) frame, consistent with Winchester’s carbine pattern of the period. It feeds from a full-length tubular magazine rated at 5+1 and uses two barrel bands, with no saddle ring, aligning with the configuration noted in the period.
The 20 inch round nickel steel barrel is rollmarked for smokeless powder and carries the Winchester WP proof on the barrel, matched by a WP proof on the receiver ring. The barrel address reads "Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. Patented August 21, 1894." The caliber is marked "30 W.C.F." at the shank.
Sighting equipment is traditional: a dovetailed front blade and an adjustable open rear leaf with elevator. The length of pull is 13.0 inches, and furniture consists of uncheckered walnut with a straight-grip stock, carbine buttplate, and a walnut carbine forend.
Per Cody PRSRB records, this rifle was manufactured in 1915. It retains the expected tang legend "MODEL 1894 – WINCHESTER – TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.
