This build uses an Essex Arms (Island Pond, VT) commercial steel frame matched with a WWII-era Remington Rand (Syracuse, NY) M1911A1 slide. The result is a mixed-parts 1911 assembly that stays true to the classic Government-size pattern with a 5-inch barrel and 7+1 capacity.
It features GI-style sights with a staked front blade and square-notch rear, rear-only vertical slide serrations, and an original-style unlowered ejection port. Controls follow the period pattern with a small thumb safety and slide stop, an A1-profile grip safety, and an arched mainspring housing with lanyard loop.
The action is single-action, short-recoil, locked-breech, combined with a short, solid trigger and a spur hammer. Safety elements include a manual thumb safety, grip safety, half-cock notch, and an inertial firing pin. The recoil spring plug face is checkered, and the pistol wears full-checkered brown grip panels.
Additional slide markings include stamped numerals "12-12" at the right rear. The pistol is U.S.-made and configured in the familiar 1911 platform, offering a straightforward GI-style layout throughout.
