What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson K-22 Masterpiece revolver
The K-22 Masterpiece represented Smith & Wesson's premier .22 LR target revolver of its era. This example is a post-war Third Model with the desirable five-screw frame configuration. It was manufactured in 1952 and later fell under the Model 17 designation when S&W adopted model numbers in 1957.
It carries hallmark target features: an undercut Patridge front blade and a micrometer-click adjustable rear sight for precise elevation and windage changes. The 6 inch tapered carbon steel barrel provides a long sight radius and steady balance on the K-frame.
The cylinder is countersunk, with recessed chambers, and the ejector rod shows the knurled tip and short under-barrel lug typical of this period. The action is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer spur, reflecting traditional S&W target revolver controls.
Materials and finish align with classic S&W construction: blued carbon steel frame, cylinder, and receiver. The target-style walnut stocks are fully checkered, cover the butt, and display S&W medallions, with stamped numerals "3398" (right) and "687" (left).
