What’s Included
- J.C. Higgins Model 80 .22 LR pistol
The Model 80 is the Sears house-brand variant of the High Standard Dura-Matic, reflecting post-war U.S. retail branding while retaining the M-101 pattern’s .22 LR blowback design. Sears identified this configuration as 583.800, which is stamped on the left-side barrel/receiver along with the caliber marking.
The 4.5 inch fixed steel barrel uses a forward knurled screw that allows fast, tool-less barrel removal. The receiver and slide wear a blued finish, and the ejection port is on the right side.
Controls are straightforward and user-focused. A button-type magazine catch sits on the left side behind the takedown screw. The pistol uses iron sights with a steel blade front on the barrel and a square-notch rear in a dovetail.
Ergonomics come from a one-piece brown synthetic wraparound grip with molded checkering and a left-side thumb rest. Magazine not included.
