Post-war commercial production from Ulm/Do. positions this P38 squarely in the early West German era. It is date-stamped 3/61 and marked "Made in Germany," with the slide legend "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do." and "P38 Cal. 9mm," plus West German Eagle/N nitro proofs and the Ulm antler proof. Import markings include C.A.I.
GEORGIA VT.
The pistol uses the P38's short-recoil, falling locking block system and a DA/SA trigger with a slide-mounted safety/decocker. An exposed spur hammer and a loaded chamber indicator plunger are present. Controls include a left-side takedown lever and slide stop, and a lanyard loop at the heel. It is made in West Germany.
Construction pairs an aluminum-alloy frame with a steel barrel and an open-top slide. The 4.9-inch barrel and full-size profile retain the classic P38 layout while keeping the handling familiar.
Fixed iron sights consist of a front blade on the barrel band and a rear notch integral to the slide. Capacity is 8+1 in 9mm Luger. Black checkered two-panel grips complete the traditional Walther profile, and two 8-round magazines are included—one with a Walther banner baseplate and one unmarked steel magazine.
