Produced circa 1930–1935, this 29M represents Hungary’s interwar service handgun development. The circled "E" acceptance mark indicates Hungarian military acceptance, aligning with its role as an early interwar Hungarian service pistol. The left frame is stamped with the serial number above the grip, and the slide carries the "FEGYVERGYÁR–BUDAPEST 29M" legend.
The design is compact and purpose-built. It is a single-action-only .380 ACP with a 3.93 in steel barrel and a 7+1 capacity. The round-top, blued steel slide uses a top-ejecting system and wears rear grasping serrations. Sighting is straightforward with a fixed small front blade and an integral rear notch in the slide.
Controls are simple and robust. The pistol uses a heel-type magazine release and feeds from single-stack magazines. An external hammer with a short serrated spur provides confident thumb purchase. Grooved hardwood grip panels offer secure handling, and a lanyard ring at the heel supports period carry methods.
Construction is all steel with a uniform blued finish on both frame and slide, consistent with FEG’s production of the era. Made in Hungary, this example combines the sought-after military acceptance mark with correct early-1930s features and comes complete with two magazines and a proper leather flap holster.
