Built in the USA circa 1992–1994, the Model 915 represents Smith & Wesson’s third-generation metal-frame auto lineage and was later succeeded by the Model 910. It retains the proven third-gen operating system and parts compatibility with the 59-series double-stack magazine pattern.
The pistol features an aluminum-alloy frame with a black anodized finish and a matte-dark carbon-steel slide. Its 4 in stainless steel barrel is marked on the hood with "9 MM PARABELLUM." Rear cocking serrations aid manipulation, and there are no front serrations.
Controls include a DA/SA trigger with a smooth, curved face and a left-side-only, slide-mounted safety/decocker. A spurred hammer with a checkered thumb pad provides positive control. The gun has no accessory rail on the dust cover.
