Ruger Bearcat Old Model .22 LR Revolver, 4-inch, 6-shot, 1969, Blued/Alloy, Factory Roll-Engraved Cylinder, With Ruger Factory Box
This 1969 Ruger Bearcat Old Model is a compact, single-action .22 LR with the hallmark unfluted, factory roll-engraved cylinder featuring the bear-and-cat scene and "RUGER BEARCAT" text. It pairs an aluminum-alloy frame with a 4-inch carbon-steel barrel and a blued cylinder, and includes the gold-anodized trigger guard that characterizes late Old-Model production. The 90- prefix serial range places it near the end of Old-Model production before the 1971 transition to the Super Bearcat. Ruger factory box is included.

The Old-Model Bearcat layout is classic Ruger: single-action only with an external, serrated-spur hammer, a right-side loading gate, and a six-shot .22 LR cylinder. Its 4-inch carbon-steel barrel and fixed sights (small blade front, top-strap groove rear) keep the package trim and easy to handle.
Construction combines a black-finished aluminum-alloy frame with a blued, unfluted carbon-steel cylinder and matching 4-inch barrel. The cylinder carries the factory roll-engraved bear-and-cat scene with "RUGER BEARCAT" text. Smooth walnut grips with Ruger medallions complete the compact profile.
Operational details include a push-button cylinder base-pin latch, a right-side ejector with crescent head, and a gold-anodized trigger guard distinctive to late Old-Model production. The barrel is roll-marked "STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A."
Made in the United States in 1969, this example sits in the 90- prefix serial range and represents late Old-Model production prior to the 1971 Super Bearcat transition. It retains the period-correct alloy frame, fixed-sight configuration, and engraved cylinder that define this series.
